Surfing the Interwebs...

While exploring the internet for some new music I came across Warm Needles. So absolutely random, but they're from Long Island, figured they deserved a shout out.

Haven't heard anything new recently from one of the most underrated bands, The Sleeping. Give 'em a listen, especially the song The Climb. If your heart was broken, you would be dead.

I just assume everyone has heard this cover, but if you haven't yet, you're welcome. : )

Long Island Bands

Thought this might be a good chance to spread the love for some local bands from the island that is long.

My friend Desmond's band Bellwether has been doing big things lately.

State Lines recently got signed, and they deserve it.

My all-time favorites, This Condition, will always be a band dear to my heart.

Also A Face For Radio. One of the greatest drummers I've ever seen play.

Also if you haven't ever heard of the Arrogant Sons of Bitches, get ready to be amazed.

Some Upcoming Shows...

Really excited to see some good shows coming up on Long Island. Definitely hope I make it to Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad at Ollie's Point.

Also, The Pietasters are playing a show on 4/20. What's better than hanging with mary jane and skankin' to some good old ska?!

Governor's Ball looks AMAZING. Passion Pit, Explosions in the Sky and Major Lazer. So stoked.

Going to buy my Bamboozle 3-day passes soon. Getting Ticketmaster credit for Christmas rocks my socks off. Side note, heard an advertisement for Bamboozle on Z100 yesterday. Weird.

Music On My Mind

Tigers Jaw and Balance and Composure put on a great show this past saturday (Feb. 4th) at The Stood at SUNY Purchase.

The H20 show Feb. 24th at Broadway Bar in Amityville on Long Island sold out in 34 hours, much to my sadness and dismay.

Also, tickets to La Dispute's show at Bowery Ballroom with Balance and Composure and Sainthood Rep's go on sale tomorrow I believe. Can't wait.

Also, Long Island's own State Lines just got signed. Pop punk representing and doing big things.

Been listening to Bon Iver recently. Beautifully sad songs for people who appreciate Bright Eyes and Fleet Foxes.
